Welcome to In The Soup, or informally, Soupy News. Born out of longtime nagging dream to start my own news site. Life circumstances and an overwhelming frustration with the current aggregator offerings have finally led me here. I have no qualifications except for a daily obsession of scouring the news with a worrying fanaticism. It started in my early teens and it has only gotten worse.
I value my privacy and have gone to modest lengths to conceal my identity. We'll see if that holds up. What I can share with you is that I am a millennial American. Not entirely politically adrift, but moderate enough to moderate this site. I have a compulsion to know what either side is up to and I believe it is important, in these divided days, to survey the full range of political opinion. My goal is to provide a balanced source for all Americans and to get you reading—if not talking to—the other side.

How the site works:
The columns are loosely defined! But somewhat sorted politically. In general, I will try to keep left-wing takes in the left column and the vice versa for the right. The most important stories, no matter the politics of the authors or publications, are in the middle column. To encourage a complete news diet, I will sprinkle human interest and good news stories throughout all the columns.
